At GF it is fair to say we are slightly badge crazy! After 30 years of manufacturing badges, we are still as in love with them as we always have been. This enthusiasm for badge making has fuelled the growth of the company over time. From year to year we have been gaining expertise and we now have a great reputation in the garment decorating industry for both blank and embroidered badges.

We’ve made badges for people all over the UK and further afield. Whether they are name badges for a company, logo badges for a club, achievement badges for a swimming event or souvenir badges for a touring heavy metal band we’ve done it all.

But what is an Embroidered Badge?

We manufacture embroidered badges (or patches-If you are American) using a stitching process on our state of the art machinery. This process can be used on a base cloth to produce individual badges or directly onto a garment or other product. The result of this is a textured design that is raised up from the fabric, helping it stand out from the garment.

Badges embroidered onto base cloth, can be cut out to produce unique, individual items which can be sewn, ironed or glued onto garments, bags or anything you want really.

Why Choose Embroidered Badges?

Many embroidered logos are better suited to badges rather than being directly onto the garment.

This is for a number of reasons:

1. The garment may already have been bought by the customer and the postage costs of getting it to the embroidery machine may not be viable

2. The position for the desired embroidery maybe to awkward to carry out with the embroidery machine.

3. The stitch count of the logo maybe too much for the garment material to hold

4. Financially it may be better to produce a large batch of badges all in one go. This works in the case that there are more recipients that will join later such as with a school or a sports club.

Badge making is a skill we have developed over thirty years. We produce quality computer programs which deliver high class designs using only the very best materials.  For a high quality, low cost badge making service then call GF today on 02920 755733, visit our eshop or send an email to info@goldenfinishes.com.

It has been a while since I have updated the blog and been very active on the social media channels and that is because we have been uber busy at GF. We have had a massive spring clean here, tidied up production and brought in several new machines. We have also been fortunate to add some very skilled people to our production workforce.

With the addition of a more skilled workforce, new faster machinery and a leaner production process it has allowed us to improve on our already high standards, increase our production capacity and speed up order turnaround times in order to meet tight deadlines.

The new machines we have are two brand new Polyprint TexJet Plus Direct to Garment Printers, which allows us to print either 80 white t shirts or 30 dark t shirts in an hour. We have also brought in a new, top of the range Tajima 8 Head Embroidery Machine which pretty much thinks and operates itself. As well as these we have also brought in 2 Amaya XTS single heads and a big 1m long heat press.

There is a great buzz here at GF and everyone has been very impressed by the performance of the new machines, it has put us in great stead for the rest of the year and onwards. We also have a number of other exciting projects keeping us all very busy, so I better get back to it!

Printwear and Promotion Live 2013- doors opened to the punters at 10am on Sunday February 24th. They were queuing up with their suitcases and bags ready to scavenge as many freebies as possible.  It was absolutely manic for the entire day, with a first day attendance of 2000 visitors. This is a 7 percent increase on Day 1 of last year’s exhibition. There were over a 120 stands with all of the industry’s leading garment brands such as Gildan, Fruit Of The Loom and Regatta. As well as the clothing brands showcasing their new products there was a huge machine presence at this year’s exhibition. Midwest’s Happy HCR-1508 8 Head Machine was opposite our stand which embroidered some very impressive complex designs over the course of the 3 days.

GF took its usual position; just on in the left hand corner as you walk in. But this year our offerings were different! We had less space for our core products i.e badges, pennants, sashes and epaulettes. This was due to the fact we have a brand new exciting industry specific white label solution to promote; etrader- websites for garment decorators. And as if all of this wasn’t exciting enough we were also giving away free ice cream- complete with a chocolate flake.

It was a toss-up between our websites and the ice cream as to which was the most popular offering, but I think the websites just edged it. We talked to over 140 different companies over the course of the 3 days and received some great feedback and many additions to our growing group of etrader website owners.

So a big thanks to everyone we saw at Printwear and Promotion LIVE this year, we hope you enjoyed your time on our stand and we hope to see you next year.

If you didn’t see us at the exhibition check out our etrader websites here: www.etraderwebsite.co.uk, revolutionize your online business today!

Chelsea FC will shortly embark on trying to become the 4th side to win all 3 of UEFA’s major club tournaments when they take on AC Sparta Praha away from home in the first leg of their last 32 game in the UEFA Cup.  The first leg will be played on Thursday the 14th of February with the return leg on the 21st, a week later.

To mark this potentially historic journey, they have called upon GF to supply them with a quality relic of the occasion. We provided this in the form of one of our personalised football pennants. As you can see below the pennant is of exceptional quality- fit for the champions of Europe. The pennant has been printed with a sublimation process to create the Chelsea blue, with an embroidered club crest and text with the addition of gold bullion fringing.

The West London team will be throwing everything at this came after becoming the first UEFA Champions League holders to be knocked out of the tournament previously. The clubs played previously in the Champions’ League group stages; with Chelsea winning one game and drawing the other. The winner of this game will play either AFC Ajax or FC Steaua Bucureşti in the last 16. So look out for our pennant just before kick off when the game is televised and let us know if you saw it!

West Wales welterweight Dale Evans just missed out on claiming the first Prizefighter trophy of 2013 narrowly missing out in the last stage to Sunderland’s Glenn Foot. Dale along with his competitor had both been undefeated coming into the event, but it was Foot who maintained his record after a great night of boxing at Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall.

Dale of course was wearing his newly embroidered and printed boxing shorts, courtesy of us here at GF. Evans felt unsurprisingly hard done by as his opponent got the nod on a split decision, due to his slightly higher work-rate and quality right hands. Dale felt he had done enough but I’m sure he will bounce back under the watchful eye of coach Gary ‘The Rocketman’ Lockett.

Evans had beaten the bookies favourite coming into the event Mark Thompson and youngster Sam Egginton in the previous rounds. The Welshman from St Clears thoroughly deserved to win both fights as he controlled the fights with his superior hand speed.
